Sleepwalking

The story I am about to tell you, (it is completely true) is a typical Bennett scenario.  So I was sleeping last night as most people do, and I had a dream that I woke up in the middle of the night and turned the light on in my room.  Why?  I don't know.  Then I stood there for about five minutes and decided it was morning time and so I went over to Angel's cage and started to replace her water.  But I realized that it wasn't morning yet, so I put the water back.  With out SHUTTING THE DOOR OF HER CAGE!  When I woke up for real, I found myself in my room which was completely ransacked, the light was on, Angel's cage was open and the water was still on the table where her cage was.  At first I thought it was Gavin or Chloe, then I thought it might be a robber who was here at night, or it was Ninja.  I was still groggy so don't blame me for thinking it was Ninja.  So I went downstairs to see Mom and told her about my dream and my room.  We put two and two together and APPARENTLY I had been sleepwalking.  This happened the other day too, just I was sleep talking not walking.  (:  Get used 2 my life if u r going 2 keep on reading my blogs.  :)  LOL

Malala

Today in G.E.L, we read an article on Malala.  In case you don't know who she is, she is a teenager in Pakistan who speaks up for the kids and especially girls who don't get to go to school in third world countries.  For doing this, the Taliban thusly shot her in the face.  But her will to survive and help overcame her pain and she still is living.  She has written a book, and will probably write some more.  The book that she has written is called, I am Malala.  Hope you read it!

6 Weeks Left!

We only have six weeks left of school!  Once it is summer, I kind if won't know what to do, or I will just be very carefree most of the time, without homework and stuff.  I will also miss school though.  A little bit.  Finally now it is spring, and I of kind of forgot that even though spring means that is isn't winter anymore, that doesn't mean that it is summer.  There is still lots of rain.  Lots.  But at least rain is better than snow, while it is springtime.

Math M.C.A's

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!  Today, tomorrow, and the day after that, are math M.C.A days.  I was pretty freaked out this morning, but once I got to the computer lab, and started doing the problems, I felt pretty confident and sure if my choices.  I tried not to second guess myself.  I stopped today on question 25 out of a lot.  The problems also weren't as hard as I anticipated.  :)

Types of Energy

Today, in science, we learned about all of the types of energy.  There is; light energy, potential energy, kinetic energy, heat energy, gravitational potential energy, chemical energy, mechanical energy, nuclear energy, electrical energy, and sound energy.  Those are a ton!

Hight of a Tree

Today, in math, we learned how to measure the hight of a tree based on its shadow, an object next to it, and the objects shadow.  Let's say the thingy standing next to the tree is 6 feet tall.  His shadow is 8 feet long.  The trees shadow is 24 feet long.  From all of that data, we could find the hight of the tree.  The answer would be................... 18 feet tall.

Different Types of Potential Energy

Today in science, we learned about the three different types of potential energy.  They are; gravitational energy, elastic energy, and then chemical energy.  Elastic energy is like with a rubber band or a trampoline.  Chemical is like the air, and gravitational is obviously the gravity.  At the beginning of class, they just blew right past my head, but now I am kind of starting to get it.

A Cool Fact About Division Problems

Here is a cool fact about division problems.  Let's say you divide 3.6 by 0.9.  Then, figure out the answer.  Now let's say that we change 3.6 to 0.00036.  Then let's say that we change 0.9 to 0.0009.  The answer would still be the same, because what you have to do to one side of the equation, you have to do the other, or it won't be equivalent.

Mark Twain

Today, in G.E.L, we learned a bit about Mark Twain.  Did you know that his real name is Samuel Clemens?  It is.  The name, Mark Twain, is boat slang for, "the water is safe, it is 12 feet deep."  He got that nickname because he really liked his boat job.  I think those facts are really cool.

Stop-Motion-Animation

Today in Media Art, we did stop-motion-animation.  In other words, we made a video out of pictures.  We all split up into groups.  I split up with this dude called Jay, and we did a really cool video.  We did one where, he was just standing alone, and then I walk up to him, push him, then he punches me, then I punch him and he falls to the floor.  The video in the end was really awesome!  Although it would help if I don't always smile the whole time.  It kind of takes away from the awesomeness of punching someone in a video.  (:

Zach, Haden, Gavin, and Kaden

I made some new friends from school the other day.  I realized that they only lived a couple houses down from mine, and they also like sports too.  They invited me too the house that they were going to hang out in, (Haden's) and we got to play hide and seek tag and basketball. Needless to say, I didn't get tagged at all in hide and seek tag, but Zach, who is actually good at basketball beat me 1 on 1!  I was up to ten, and we both had nine, and so he just chucked it with his back facing the hoop, from the three point range, and swished it!  I was really dumbfounded!  (:

Science Test

Tomorrow, we are havering a science test.  It is about sound, sound waves, the ear, basically everything we have larned so far this summer.  I got 100% when mom quizzed me at home.  I am feeling pretty confident about it!  Science is one of my favorite classes.  Again, I hate actual science, but the teacher makes all the difference.  Same with math class- I am okay at math, I kind of hate it, but the teacher makes all the difference.

My Summer Basketball Training Schedule

I am making a summer basketball training schedule.  It will be awesome.  There is no doubt in my mind that I won't make the A-team.  This will be my routine, and it will also switch off every other day.  Day 1, Dribbling Drills, Post Shots, Lay-ups, free time/ play with Dad or my neighbor.  Day 2, Elbow Shots, Free-throws, 3-pointers, free time/play with dad or my neighbor.  I will do the dribbling drills until I have done cross-over, through the legs, behind the back, and spin move about 20 times each.  I will do my lay-ups until I make 100 in a row, or I can do mike-ens too.  My post shots will be 50 from the left side, 50 from the middle, and 50 from the right side.  My elbow shots will be shot 100 times.  I will shoot ten sets of ten free-throws, and I will shot about 50 three pointers.

The Ear

In science lately, we have been learning about the ear.  Did you know that there are actually 3 tiny bones in your ear?  Here are all the parts of your ear; the pinna, the inner ear, the auditory canal, the hammer, anvil and stirrup, the cochlea, (I remember that as saying backwards, "Uh, Lee's Coke.) and then the auditory nerve.

dB

Today, in science, I learned what the abbreviation, dB means.  It means decibel.  Decibels can be used as a unit for a label of sound.  Just like mi. is for miles, ft. is for feet... Etc.  So if something is 85 dB, then it is really loud, but if it is 20 dB, it is really quiet.  Also, did you know that anything over 85 dB can be deafening?  As in literally.

Pursuasive Essay

In language, we are going to be writing a persuasive essay.  We (kind of obviously) have to persuade someone about something in our essay.  Mine is about longer P/E time.  I chose that because our gym teacher like to talk for about ten minutes to explain everything!  Way too long.  Then we have the five minutes to change in the locker room and another to get into your regular clothes.  So that leaves you with about fifteen minutes of gym time since all our classes are 44 minutes.  So I hope my language teacher sends it to the gym teachers!  (:

Basketball in Gym

Tomorrow, in gym, we will FINALLY be doing some basketball!  I am really excited.  First we have to dribble around and steal flags from someone or something and whoever has the most wins, or I hear we might also be doing some lay ups and shots and stuff.  It will be awesome.  I told Nathan today since he had gym today, (he is my teams point-guard) to remember to bounce e ball up and down and remember to look down when you dribble to make sure you know where it is, and to shoot it with both hands and too travel as much as he can.  (:  I was kidding with him.  Oh yeah, today is April fools!  Ironic, but seriously, we will be doing basketball in gym tomorrow.
