Really Awesome Video!

My friend, Jackson, showed me this video today.  It is really funny!  :)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gWxHFMog9w  Isn't it AWESOME!  I like Mr. Rage Monster!  :)

Different Types of Rays

Today in science, we learned about the different types of rays and waves.  They are, Gamma Rays, X-Rays, U.V. Rays, Inferred Rays, Visible Lights, Microwaves, (not the kitchen kind.) and Radio Rays.  We learned which ones are more radioactive, the wavelengths, how to find the wavelength, the labels of the waves, etc.

Rochester

I can't wait until this weekend!  Just me and Dad get to go to a hotel and then have a basketball tournament there.  Everyone is saying that we are playing a team from Soiux Falls, South Dakota.  It's going to be awesome!  It will just be me and Dad!  I had a really great practice last night with two blocks and about ten points!  I also had two steals and a nice alley-oop lay-up.  It was awesome!

Math

In math, we are learning about fractions.  Everything about fractions.  I have always had a hard time with fractions, but Mr. Amos makes it seem so easy.  I guess he could teach rocket science or calculous, and make it seem easy.  :)  Right now, it's about equivalent fractions.  Those were the one's I was worst at, but now it seems so easy.  I feel like I could be a math teacher right now!  :)  Not really.

Skiing

On Sunday, I went skiing with one of my friends, Carter.  It was AWESOME!  It was my first time skiing, but I turned out to be really good!  I could go almost as fast as Carter.  Carter went on a snowboard.  I was expecting to be really bad a fall down a lot, because well....  I am Bennett.  I am very clumsy and fall down at random times on my own two feet.  So if I have long things attached to my feet and i am going down a really fast hill, I thought I would do really bad.  But I didn't.  I only fell down twice, and we went down the hills a lot of times, and we went for about two hours!  Carter invited me to go skiing/snowboarding with his family, and since I have never hung out with him, I took the offer, and I am glad I did!  It was fun!  :)

Density

In science lately, we have been learning about density.  The equation for density is mass divided by volume.  The way I remember it is (you have to be a little creative here) to imagine a heart.  Not the organ but the shape.  If you split the heart in half, up and down, the bottom is a V and the top is an M.  So that is kind of like mass divided by volume.  That is the way my science teacher taught it!  :)

Tournaments

I only have three more basketball tournaments including the one this weekend!  The one this weekend is going to be our last regular one.  The one in Rochester, we stay in a hotel (there is a pool!  AND FREE BREAKFAST!)  and then the one after that, State, is where all of the traveling basketball teams go, even from cities where we don't ever play.  After the State Tournament, the season is done!  This basketball season has gone by fast, but I can't wait until off-season!

Phone

Apparently, I have to get a spare phone from Mom and Dad's room.  It is another dumb phone, and I kind of like them.  Anyways, my old phone just has a white screen no matter what I do.  I so so weird!  It just randomly happened.  Mom did a bunch of research and stuff and she found out that it is from falling too much.  Of course everyone blames me, but I mean, I think it was the phone always trying to jump out of my pockets!  :)  Gavin has dropped his phone a gajillion to the gajillianth power times, and it hasn't ever done this.  I think it is not just from falling, but from the battery falling out every time the phone falls out of my pockets.  So I will have the same number, but I will have to get everyone else's phone numbers again.   And it will be a lot harder to text.  TRANSLATED TO TEXT MODE:  And it will b a lot hardr 2 txt!E  LOLOLOLOLOLOL.  :)

Fireplace time!

IT IS SO COLD UP HERE!  I just want it to be summer, or at least spring again so that I can practice basketball outside!  I would rather get a sunburn, but go swimming in the pool, rather than getting a cold, and being FREEZING, and stuck inside all day.  I do like the times when we get to go sledding, but that's kind of hard to do when it is always negative degrees weather though.  (:

Tournament

Guess what?  In our next tournament this weekend, we are going to be playing the A-team!  I am really nervous.  I want to play really good, so that all the A-team players can see that I am always going to be a good player, A or B team.  But I just realized now that I could really care less about what the A-team thinks about me.  If we lose this game, I ain't going down without a fight!  I am determined to get some And-1s in this tournament!  I know that I will still be the same person, wether they think that I am a B-team player or an A-team player.  Me and Jackson have come up with some plans on how to break their defense, since he was on the A-team last year too.  (:

March Madness

I can't wait until March Madness!  If you don't know what that is, I am afraid you will have to call me and report yourself to the police.  :)  Just kidding.  March Madness is (obviously) in March, and it is all the college basketball teams who have a really good record, into a huge tournament bracket thingy.  And it's on TV.  I am counting on VCU, Michigan, Baylor, SMU, and North Carolina Tar Heels.  I think college basketball is funner to watch than NBA because, all of the players just seem more energetic, and they seem to hustle a lot more.  NBA players just seem to be too cocky and seem like everything is too easy for them to do.

Math

Mr. Amos, my math teacher, is really awesome!  I suck at math, but he makes it seem easy by just explaining it, and he is really funny too!  For the past three days, my favorite part of the school day has been math which is pretty surprising!  :)  I like the teachers who make everything seem so easy, and make jokes while they are doing it!  :)

Prime Factorization

Today and yesterday in math, we have been learning about prime factorization.  Basically, you are trying to get a really big number, and then list it (exponentionally if there is more of the same number listed) all with prime numbers.  Prime numbers are numbers that can only be divided by one and itself.  For example, let's say that the number is 300.  Let's divide that by three.  So now it is 3 and 100.  Since three is prime, that will be part of our answer, but we can keep going.  So 100 divided by two is 2 and 50.  Two is prime, so that will also be part of our answer too.  But we can keep going.  (:    50 divided by 2 is 25 and 2.  All of those numbers are prime so our answer is, 3*2 to the second power*25.  (:

Summer Hope Poem

Smell the green grass,
Swimming in the pool,
Swish!  Goes the hoop,
It's really cool!
Biking in the breeze,
No more winter freeze...
