First Practice

This upcoming monday will be my first basketball practice!  I am so excited.  When I first made the A-team in 5th grade, nobody on my team really respected me as a player.  When I made B-team last year, I was really upset because everyone would think I was bad!  But that actually wasn't the case.  They saw how I pushed through last year, developed new skills, and was even able to make my best move (a lay-up) against them in scrimmages.  Now that I made the A-team again, and I'm also confident about my skills, every other player who didn't respect me as a player did. Some of them are my classmates and friends.  (:

Field Trip

Today, we went on a field trip.  It was awesome!  We had a ton of team building activities that were pretty cool.  We went to a place called Schaar's Bluff.  We hiked around some trails and even though Mom, Dad, Gavin, Chloe and I go there a lot, it was still fun.

Night Games

Today, we are doing night games at our church!  We did it once before and it was really awesome!  Everything was dark and there was food and there was awesomeness!  My favorite game was called Assasin.  A church game obviously by the name.  There is either one or two assassins, (the church is pretty big and there is an upstairs and a downstairs) and they go and hide.  Then everyone else tries to find them.  It makes perfect sense to find a hiding Assasin right?  If you find them, then you yell their name and run for your life because they chase you.  There is a base, but it is more fun to pretend to be dead and freak out everyone else when they see dead people but no Assasin.  (:

Test

Today, we had our first math test.  It wasn't that hard, mostly review but some new stuff.  We did adding and subtracting integers, multiplying and dividing integers, order of operations (really annoying long problems), absolute value, and we add the powers into that.  Power is when it's that really small number on the top right of the number.  I double checked all of my work and I think I will do really good except for one problem which tricked everyone.

Monk

Mom and Dad have just started to let us watch Monk.  It's really funny and the dude who plays Monk does a really good job of being awkward.  I can't wait to watch more!  I also like the crime show Numb3rs.  It is also really good, but I am really starting to like Monk!  (:

Realistic Fictions Story

In language class, we are making a realistic fiction story.  My story is about a kid named Joe who goes to school like every other day, but when it is lunchtime, everyone is so hungry that they turn into cannibals and start chasing him.  Everyone was a cannibal that is, except Joe because his mom made his lunch so he is full.  So everyone is chasing him, even the principle, and he finally has the idea to go back to the lunch room and make walls out of lunch tables around him.  Then he calls 911 and Pizza Hut.  He calls Pizza Hut because they can bring pizzas to save everyone from starving to death... while the police handcuff everybody.  There is only one person among the dead, his language teacher who got eaten by his friend.  I think it will be good!  :)

Ultimate Frisbee

Today, in P/E, we played Ultimate Frisbee.  It's really fun and I like it.  The concept is basically the same as football where you throw the football, or in this case the frisbee, and you try and catch it and make a touchdown.  The only different thing is, is that once you catch the frisbee, you can't walk with it.  Once you catch it, you throw it to other people.  It's kind of like a cross of rugby and football with a frisbee.  It's cool.

Quote

I saw a quote in my history teacher's classroom that said, "Even in the middle of winter, I find an Invincible Summer in me."  I don't know who it is from.  I think I should remember that quote when I am standing at my bus stop in -10 degree weather with the wind.  :)  But it also refers to a lot of other things besides just the seasons.  I think it also refers to like, if you are going through a hard time, there is always a part of you that is good or whatever matches the hard time.

No Homework

Today is the second day that I have had no homework.  Second day out of three or so weeks!  I guess they require a whole lot more of you in 7th grade than they do in 6th or any grade below that.  The homework isn't too hard and it's kind of fun sometimes, but there are always days when you begin school and you don't want any homework at all.  That wish doesn't come true often now, but it happens all the same.

Math

In math, we are learning how to multiply and divide integers, the tricks to it, etc.  It's not too hard but I have a feeling that later in the year, things will get harder.  I am pretty good with all that stuff with integers, but the power/ exponents part of it tricks me up sometimes.  Overall though, I think I will do good in math this year.

A-Team

I MADE THE A-Team!  (: I am so proud of myself!  I worked so hard this summer and It paid off!  But two of my friends got sent to the B-Team so. I am sorry for them!  I will make this year my best year ever!!!

Gavin Neighbor

I have a friend at school who I later found out was a neighbor called Gavin.  He is really funny.  This morning he told me that he woke up and had a feeling that Gingers would take over the world.  ???  He said to barricade my windows and doors and make sure no Gingers get in.  He has a funny sound he makes with his lips and it sounds like zipping up a coat.  He talks with that noise and it is really funny.  Also, we play football in his yard together.  So make sure no Gingers are at your house!  :)

To Much Time Taken

Our gym teacher today was really annoying.  First she talked for about a billion hours (30 min.) and then we ran laps around the school, and finally we got to doing what was planned for P/E today, football.  But we only did it for about 1 minute!  No joke.  Someone threw the football, and then the bell rang to go to our next class!  How annoying!!!!!!!!!!

Grades

So far this year, I have all A's.  Kind of obvious since it's only the second week of school and we've only had like fifteen assignments total but still... they are A's.  I am going to try to have nothing lower than a B.  A B+ is okay, a B is okay, but a B- I will try not to get.  Hopefully I can achieve my goal!  :)

Today, there was a fight at lunch.  This one kid Cade made a racist remark to Ricky, an Asian, who does boxing.  Not a good idea.  Ricky threw his lunch at Cade's face and started punching him in the stomach or face.  I don't know which one.  It was dumb of Cade to be racist and dumb of Ricky to start a fight.  Both were kinda friends of mine.  Ricky is huge and started working out since he was seven, Cade is small.  Cade went to the nurse and Ricky I think might get expelled.  I don't know about Cade.  They will have to think about this one for a while.

Grandma and Grandpa Sleep-Over

Mom and Dad went on their anniversary over the weekend and we got to stay with Grandma and Grandpa since they moved here!  It was really fun and I would like to do it every-other week!  :)  We had a lot of funny and awesome memories as per usual and an all around great time!  I got to play tennis with Grandpa, played a cool board game called bat-gammon with Grandma and ate like a king!

September 5, 2014

Today, me, Mom and Dad went to the hospital in St. Paul to find out what makes me SO sore.  They did some blood-work and asked questions and stuff but basically all they did was tell me that time would tell what I had and that they had a few guesses, but no answers.  They gave me some medicine and they said that if that doesn't work then we should go to a muscle-nuro-doctor-dude-guy.  Some kind of doctor that deals with muscle pains and stuff.  So we will wait and see.  :)

TIme Capsule

Today in Language, we had to write down what objects we would put in our time capsule if one of our kids were to find it one day.  It also has to represent us.  So I put:

1.  A basketball.

2.  A family photo.

3.  A box of Cheez-it's.

4.  A bag of parmesan cheese.

5.  My basketball jersey.

6.  A book.

7.  A dumbbell.

8.  Tennis Shoes.

9.  An ipod with songs that I liked.

Tryout's

THIS SATURDAY IS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS!  But I'm cool about it.  :)  I'm not as nervous as last year, because even though I made the B-Team, everyone on the A-Team respected me as a player from watching some of my games.  I think that is cool!  I think/know I will make A-Team this year because I have improved my shot a ton!  I used to shoot the way little kids do, but now I shoot above my head like the NBA players do!  I'm more excited than nervous about the tryouts this year I think.

First Day of 7'th Grade

Today was my first day of 7'th grade!  So far it seems pretty cool.  Mrs. Kipke, my language teacher is totally, completely awesome and my favorite teacher already.  I have some friends in my classes too so that's good.  I ride the bus to and from school with Chlo and it's pretty fun.  I can't wait to wake up at 6:15 again tomorrow and the rest of the school year!  Yay!  :)  (Sarcastic)  But I am excited to learn!
