Today in music class, our teacher, Mr. Ferguson, played a lute for us. It was pretty cool and he told us that only 30% off the sound actually comes out of the lute, while 70% comes out of the guitar. That happens because the guitar has a flat back, making the sound waves go right out of the guitar, while the lute has a curved, half-circle back and so the sound waves go bouncing every direction. But the lute has a really nice sound and it's very quiet.
