Grades

So far this year, I have all A's.  Kind of obvious since it's only the second week of school and we've only had like fifteen assignments total but still... they are A's.  I am going to try to have nothing lower than a B.  A B+ is okay, a B is okay, but a B- I will try not to get.  Hopefully I can achieve my goal!  :)

Today, there was a fight at lunch.  This one kid Cade made a racist remark to Ricky, an Asian, who does boxing.  Not a good idea.  Ricky threw his lunch at Cade's face and started punching him in the stomach or face.  I don't know which one.  It was dumb of Cade to be racist and dumb of Ricky to start a fight.  Both were kinda friends of mine.  Ricky is huge and started working out since he was seven, Cade is small.  Cade went to the nurse and Ricky I think might get expelled.  I don't know about Cade.  They will have to think about this one for a while.

Grandma and Grandpa Sleep-Over

Mom and Dad went on their anniversary over the weekend and we got to stay with Grandma and Grandpa since they moved here!  It was really fun and I would like to do it every-other week!  :)  We had a lot of funny and awesome memories as per usual and an all around great time!  I got to play tennis with Grandpa, played a cool board game called bat-gammon with Grandma and ate like a king!

Today, me, Mom and Dad went to the hospital in St. Paul to find out what makes me SO sore.  They did some blood-work and asked questions and stuff but basically all they did was tell me that time would tell what I had and that they had a few guesses, but no answers.  They gave me some medicine and they said that if that doesn't work then we should go to a muscle-nuro-doctor-dude-guy.  Some kind of doctor that deals with muscle pains and stuff.  So we will wait and see.  :)

TIme Capsule

Today in Language, we had to write down what objects we would put in our time capsule if one of our kids were to find it one day.  It also has to represent us.  So I put:

1.  A basketball.

2.  A family photo.

3.  A box of Cheez-it's.

4.  A bag of parmesan cheese. 

5.  My basketball jersey.

6.  A book.

7.  A dumbbell.

8.  Tennis Shoes.

9.  An ipod with songs that I liked.

Tryout's

THIS SATURDAY IS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS!  But I'm cool about it.  :)  I'm not as nervous as last year, because even though I made the B-Team, everyone on the A-Team respected me as a player from watching some of my games.  I think that is cool!  I think/know I will make A-Team this year because I have improved my shot a ton!  I used to shoot the way little kids do, but now I shoot above my head like the NBA players do!  I'm more excited than nervous about the tryouts this year I think.

First Day of 7'th Grade

Today was my first day of 7'th grade!  So far it seems pretty cool.  Mrs. Kipke, my language teacher is totally, completely awesome and my favorite teacher already.  I have some friends in my classes too so that's good.  I ride the bus to and from school with Chlo and it's pretty fun.  I can't wait to wake up at 6:15 again tomorrow and the rest of the school year!  Yay!  :)  (Sarcastic)  But I am excited to learn!

Un-Journaling 34

Instructions:  Write an "un-ad" that tells the absolute truth about a product.

The absolute truth about food commercials on TV is that the food they show isn't real.  Let's say that the commercial was for a burger, the burger is probably plastic and they just paint it to look like a patty.  The bun isn't real, the sesame seeds on the bun aren't real, and when they zoom up on the burger, they put smoke in the background instead of an actual smokey burger!

Un-Journaling 33

Instructions:  There is smoke.  Where is it coming from?  You investigate and are surprised by what you find.  Describe what you discover.

When I got to the place with smoke, I saw the most amazing thing!  You would never believe it but I think you should listen anyways.  So I ran over to the smoke and I found a small chipmunk.  Cute right?  No, he was a small, cute, FIRE-BREATHING chipmunk!  Apparently he got mad at a squirrel and well... let's hope the squirrel's death was a quick one.

Instructions:  The general gives short, straightforward orders.  His wife gives longer, chattier suggestions.  How does the general tell his son to get up and mow the lawn?  How does his wife tell him?  Write out the words of each.

General:  "Son!  Mow, now!  Straight lines back and forth!  Quick, Quick, now!"

Wife:  "Billy dear, do you think you can mow the lawn today?  Make sure that when you mow, the mower is straight and that way the lines are straight.  Take your time and do it right."
