Grandma and Grandpa

My Grandma and Grandpa just decided to move up here after Grandpa retired earlier in the year!  They are here now, just in an apartment looking for homes.  They found one they really liked and put an offer on it.  Every day that they are/will be here will be surreal.  Whenever I see them, I still think they are visiting, not actually living here.  It will be EPIC!

Kung Fu was awesome!  It will make me more flexible now,and cooler.  (Making me cooler is hard, so that means that Kung Fu is really epic!  (: ) Our instructor was actually Gavin's J.K.D instructor.  He is really good but doesn't look like the kind of guy who would be.

First Day of Kung Fu!

Today is Chloe and I's first day of Wushu Kung Fu!  It will be EPIC!  I think it is good that she and I are both in the same class.  I wonder what our uniforms will look like and who will teach us!  I will blog about all that tomorrow when I know.  (:

A Spring Haiku

A haiku is a poem that is Japanese, and it has a first line with 5 syllables, and second line with 7 syllables, and a third line with 5 syllables.  It also has to include what time of year it is.  Here it is.

The flower buds bloom,

Young animals become old,

Take a sniff of air.

5K

At the end of this year, we will be running (as a school) a 5K.  It will definitely be hard, but I have been practicing and running miles for it.  In P/E, we also run miles and two miles, but three and some odd miles will be hard!  Even though it will be hard, I will try not to walk at all the whole way.

Breaking Ankles

In basketball terms, if you break someone's ankles, you just fake them out so much, they fall down.  Guess what?  Before school starts in the morning, the gyms are open, so I go there as do a lot of people and play basketball.  The other day, I was dribbling to do a layup, when this kid named Dylan (we are friends) tried to steal the ball from me.  That wasn't going to happen.  When he tried to steal it, I crossed over and then he tried to steal the ball on the left side, but then I quickly crossed over to my right hand again.  He got so faked out, he fell down and you will never believe what happened..... He literally broke his ankle!  He now has an ankle brace on!  I feel sorry that I did that, but I am still laughing so hard over that!  (:

Multiplying and Dividing Integers

Today, in math, we learned how to multiply and divide integers.  We learned two rules, if there is a positive and a negative, it always equals a negative.  Opposites equal a negative.  If they are both are the same, (both negative or both positive) then they always equal a positive.  Pretty cool!  (:

Wushu Kung Fu

Soon, I will be taking Kung Fu classes with Chloe at the place where Gavin does his J.K.D.  It will be epic!  I can finally look cool trying to do some martial arts moves against Gavin when he uses me as a test dummy for his moves.  :)  I can't wait.  Also, it will be cool to have Chloe learning to so that I don't have to teach her.

Repeating and Terminating Decimals

Today, in math, we learned about repeating and terminating decimals.m repeating decimals are when there is a pattern the to division problem and the same number or pattern of numbers goes on forever. So it could be like this, 1.5555555555555555555555555, but instead of writing all of those numbers, you would just write a dash above the beginning number or pattern that repeats.  An terminating decimals is like this, 5.7785, it just stops.  On calculators though, repeating decimals would be like this, 1.55555555555555555555555556.  It would be a six to show that it goes on forever.

How to Calculate Speed

Today, in science, we learned how to calculate speed.  What you do, is you take the mass of the object, and divide it by the time.  If you were trying to find out how fast a NASCAR driver is going, you divide his cars mass, and divide it by the time.  It's pretty cool!

Coming Home

Today, Mom and Dad are coming home!  They will be here at around 9:30.  I will stay up to see them.  The good thing is, Nana still stays until Friday, so we get two more days with her.  It will be awesome.  Mom bring a the good weather with her wherever she goes, so when she went to California, she made in nice out there.  And she also made it cold here.  But now that she is coming back, it will be warm.  (:

Nana

Nana has been here with us since Friday.  It has been awesome!  We have all laughed so hard, had a lot of fun, played a lot of games, and ate a lot.  She leaves this Friday, because Mom and Dad get here on Wrdnesday and she also wants to spend time with them.  They are in California right now!  They get heat and beaches, and we get cold and rain!  (:

Dividing Decimals

Today, in math, we learned how to divide decimals.  It actually isn't that hard, the only hard part is just remembering to move the decimal.  Of course, Mr. Amos made it look easy, as he does with all math stuff, but I wonder what I am going to do next year.  Even though I have had a B-, an A- and another A-, I still am no good at math.  For some reason, math is the only class where things don't click for me.  I hope I have a really good math teacher next year as well!

Kinds of Heat

Today, in science, we learned about the kinds of heat.  There is convection, conduction, and radiation. Radiation is when the heat spreads out in all directions.  Convection is when the molecules on the bottom get hot, rise up to the top, and then the molecules on the top get hot and rise up.  Conduction is when heat transfers by direct contact.

READ THE BOOK, "I Am Malala" RIGHT NOW!  It is really good.  Me and mom are reading it together right now, and every day she reads it to me, I become more interested and the more I dislike the Taliban.  Do you know what the subtitle on the book is?  It is, 'The girl who stood up for education, and was shot by the Taliban'.  Read the book, you'll love it.

Heat

Today, in science, we learned about the three different types of heat.  There is conduction, convection, and radiation.  Radiation heat is where it speads the heat in all different directions.  Conduction heat I remember as a conductor with the wand thing.  Conduction heat passes heat on while in direct contact with that molecule.  And finally, convection heat is where the cold molecules on the bottom get hot, and they rise to the top, pushes the molecules on the top to the bottom, and it goes in a never ending cycle.  Unless you turn off the heat.

Molecular Theory

When you think of Molecular Theory, you are like, AAAAAHHHHHHH!  That is like totally advanced science stuff.  But really, it's not.  Molecular Theory is just about solids, liquids, gases, and atoms basically.  Molecular Theory is learning that all atoms in all substances vibrate, nothing can reach Absolute Zero.  Absolute Zero is when it is so cold, the atoms don't even move.  Which is impossible.  Molecular Theory is hard to explain, so just call my science teacher for more information.  (:
